Advocacy. It's all part of the NYSRA tradition.
In today's policy environment, it is essential that NYSRA members have a strong and vigilant champion working on their behalf. Effective advocacy on policy and legislative matters has long been a hallmark of NYSRA member services. Our accomplished staff, with its years of policy and advocacy experience, is augmented by a consultant team that works tirelessly to protect the interests of every NYSRA member.
NYSRA's leadership role in policy and budget analysis dates to its inception more than 25 years ago. But we know that policy analysis and advocacy efforts have never been more important than they are today. That's why our team constantly works to position our members and enhance members' relationships with state agencies and strengthen members' impact on legislative thinking.
Our approach to New York State policy and legislation is multi-pronged. Our policy and legislative priorities are identified through our NYSRA divisions, then undertaken through regular contact with state agencies, key legislative leaders and Assembly and Senate committees, and the Office of the Governor. Where appropriate, NYSRA works in collaboration with other advocacy groups and associations to further fortify our efforts. Similarly, NYSRA works in partnership with our members and with other advocates to monitor and influence the decisionmaking made at the Federal level.
The proof is in our product: Regular information clearinghouse services for our members, rapid turnaround of policy and budget information, informed and informative advocacy efforts on behalf of all NYSRA members.
